Monitor Sources Not Saved in Control Room Presets

When saving Control Room presets, Monitor Sources are not saved.

To reproduce the problem:

  1. Navigate to Nuendo > Studio > Audio Connections… > Control Room
  2. Select the “Add Channel” button > Add Monitor Source and select an appropriate input, Group, or output from the lists
  3. In the Presets drop-down menu, choose Save Preset… > “MyPreset”
  4. Remove the Monitor Source you created in Step 2 above
  5. In the Presets drop-down menu, choose “MyPreset”
  6. Notice your deleted Monitor Source is not restored

Thank you for your time and consideration.

They seem to follow projects, not presets. To my mind that seems correct since you can’t monitor what isn’t there, and what you monitor is the “mixer” which is recalled with each project.

Maybe I’m missing something…

I see what you’re saying. I’ve been using Monitor Sources with outputs exclusively, but now that you mention it, a Monitor Source attached to a Group that doesn’t exist might break the world.

Frankly, my understanding of settings stored in Preferences vs. Projects/Templates is lacking. And then there’s Profiles. Which settings get saved in what? Is there a list somewhere? An overarching logic?

Thank you!
