Monitoring Effects Only?

I’ve setup an FX channel & added it to a track.

Now I hear both the effect and the original sound source.

How can I work with just the effect, eliminating the original sound source?

Thanks for any guidance.

set your send on the source track to 100% wet

Thanks but that seems to just apply more effect, not remove the original source.

For instance I’m running an FX plug-in over a drum beat. I want to take the drum beat out altogether…

  • Define a second output buss
  • Route the FX channel to it
  • Solo it

-switch the send to pre fade for monitoring
-temporarily set the dry channel to not connected

-Use the listen function, if available in your used software…
