Monitoring External Instrument that is also used as main midi controller

Hi everyone!

I’ve changed to a Sequential Take 5 as my main midi controller, which I have also setup as an external instrument within C13

When I have a different track selected, for example a VSTi track, I still hear the External Instrument outputting sound thru that track unless I explicitly mute that track.

Is there anyway around this? So that this external instrument only outputs sound when selected.

Switch the Local Control Off at your hardware, please.

Tried that already, but then I hear nothing also not when the track is selected.

Is MIDI Through enabled in the settings?

Of course! That sounds like it must do the trick!!

I can test it in about an hour. Will report back if it worked.

Ok, that was some weird behaviour. I’ve switched on local off on my Take5 and checked cubase midi prefs where it stated that midi thru was already activated. so I tried, but got the same behaviour as stated earlier.

Then unticked midi thru, hit apply, and re activated midi thru, now it all works :slight_smile:
