Monitoring with Reason Rack Plugin

Hi all,

I’m in the process of evaluating Cubase. I’m trying to get the Reason Quad Note Generator to work in Cubase via the Reason Rack Plugin. I have a MIDI track set up that outputs to the RRP so that I can have the QNG triggered by ‘key’. And a second track that takes the RRP as input and my Instrument as output.

This all works fine. The only strange thing is, when I switch to a different track the audio from the RRP track is stops. The only way I can get it to work is by monitoring the RRP instrument track (i.e. the little brown icon). I have no idea why this works this way. Can anybody enlighten me?

Hi,

The track gets a live input from RRP, therefore it has to be monitored. Of course, you can record the MIDI data to the other track. Then you don’t need the Monitor anymore.
