Make sure that your pedal length is the desired one (its end point attachment line should go to the first beat of the next bar). To correct this you can select the line and use the usual shortcut ShiftAlt(Option) → to prolong it:
You can also fine adjust the appearance of this in Engraving Options (but I observed just now that this functionality doesn’t seem to do anything, maybe is broken?):
You have some Playback Options (that only affect playback) to define what happens with the Pedal (but generally you don’t need to tweak the Dorico default settings on this page…):
Is not exactly the same as with Dynamic grouping (as the Ped. markings will be substituted with retake markings), but you can merge Pedal lines selecting them and right click to invoke the menu. But as @John_Ruggero suggested, this is not necessary, because they don’t need to be aligned perfectly, but follow instead the lowest note:
