More space between staves and systems

Hi, sorry to bother with a probably simple question, that I couldn’t solve with 30mins of fiddling:

I want to create a play-along video for my class (recording my screen). So the “print” size is vertical, roughly HD-ish. I just left it at A4 landscape, that seems to work well. Anyway, the three instruments are too close to each other (overlapping one another). Also, Doric wants to put fives systems (?) on a page. That’s very confusing for the kids.

I tried the (translating from the German UI) Layout Options > Staves and Systems > set number of systems (even setting it to 1 doesn’t do anything) as well as Layout Options > (1st to 4th options: Stave to Stave, stave to system etc.) (this moves the staves around, but Dorico keeps the five systems on a page so it’s all just deckchairs on the Titanic).

What’s happening, why am I not losing those systems? Thanks for your input.

In Engrave mode enter a Frame Break (SHIFT + F) on what you want to be the first beat of the next page.

I generally let Dorico do its thing with layout, but you can control the number of systems on a page as part of Casting Off. This is set in Layout Options → Staves and System → Casting Off → Fixed number of systems per frame.

Also, when doing videos, I create a layout with the dimensions of 26.667" x 15" (you can convert to mm) that results in 1920x1080 pts which will export to HD resolution.

Erm? Is that calculation correct?

Eep! Fixed.

Thanks, now I can create the video!

(It wasn’t Shift+F on my system but I could look up the term “Frame” / “Rahmen” and do it via the menu.)
