Got a new answer from the Steinberg support team.
Unfortunately they see the problem not in Nuendo, they say it is a macOS problem…
Damn!
So what can we do?
switch to PC
switch to ProTools
stop doing audio
I don’t get it a 100%, because other applications on macOS I work with do not have this odd behaviour. So in my opinion there must be some kind of an issue with Steinberg / Nuendo
Yep! I’m also little suspicious about this…
I have the same issue in Cubase 13 when using my MBP( M1 Max) -Mac OS Sonoma 14.5.
I can 100% say it never happens on my Windows DAW .
M
Version 14.0.20 and this issue persists. (M1 Studio, Sonoma 14.7.2)
This is a long shot and I left Apple as a customer some years ago so can’t test but maybe using a cursor utility that interacts with the API calls might solve it?
Mousecape
It’s not just the cursor icon - the functionality (e.g. the stretch tool) isn’t there - when I hover over the bottom corners of an event & try to resize the event it’s stuck in draw mode. This thing happen especially whenever the modifier (OPT) key was used e.g. copy an event. Afterwards the cursor would sort of get “stuck” in modifier mode, but only for the bottom corners. I’ve gotten used to just tapping the OPT key again to reset the cursor back to normal mode
I see this often as well, M1 Mac Studio, Ventura. It’s seemingly random as to when it happens. As stated above, I can usually restore the correct behavior by jumping to another program and then back to Nuendo.
