Mouse scroll wheel zoom and Insert silence

2 questions. Is there a way to insert a predetermined and exact amount of silence on a track (generate silence). For example, 1 second at the beginning and 2 seconds at the end?

Also, is there a way to scroll in and out of the track (zoom in closer etc.) using the mouse wheel?

Just move the Event/Part to the right to get the silence at the beginning. Or what do you mean by “silence on the track”, please?

Ctrl/Cmd plus scrolling does the Zoom In/Out.
