Mouse Wheel Scrolling Through Tool Subtypes in the Toolbox

When right-clicking in the event display of the Project window, the toolbox appears. Here, the Color tool already supports mouse wheel scrolling to cycle through color swatches — an elegant and efficient interaction that fits naturally into a mouse-based workflow.

I would like to suggest extending this behavior consistently to all toolbox tools that have subtypes or modes — specifically:

  • Object Selection (Normal Sizing / Sizing Moves Contents / Sizing Applies Time Stretch)
  • Time Warp (Warp Grid / Warp Grid musical events follow / Free Warp)
  • Line/Curve Tool (Line / Parabola / Sine / Triangle / Square / Two Sine Waves)
  • Play Tool (Play / Scrub)

The idea is simple: hovering over a tool in the toolbox and scrolling the mouse wheel would cycle through its available subtypes, mirroring the existing behavior of the Color tool.

The precedent is already set within Cubase itself. Extending it consistently across all multi-mode tools in the toolbox would improve workflow coherence without requiring any new UI elements.
