Move barline

Is there a way for me to drag or move this barline? Because i want it to be a lil far in the first note so i doesn’t look boring for me.

You can’t drag barlines around, but you can change time signature. You’ve got a 4/4 signature with a 1-beat pickup. Just change that for a standard 4/4 with no pick-up.

Awh. I wish dorico has a feature that can drag barlines, like musescore

You can add a barline anywhere; and you can delete a barline anywhere. You can set time signatures anywhere. Moving things ‘visually’ without defining exactly what you want can cause problems.

If you need to drag the barline rhythmically, you can, as @benwiggy was explaining, by adjusting the beats/time signature. If you want to drag it only visually (?), that is possible as well, in Engrave Mode.

Yes, thats what im looking for. I didn’t know dorico has this feature. Lol

Yes, but that’s only for making small adjustments to the spacing. You can’t change the number of beats.

And if you want wider spacing between the notes and barlines, then there are other ways of doing that.

Really, there’s no point in doing spacing when you’ve only entered one bar of notes.

Engrave Mode, Note Spacing:

Then select the square above the barline, and Alt+Arrow (or Ctrl+Alt+Arrow for bigger gaps)

If the music looks too tight, you can increase Note Spacing in Layout Options, it should give better results than tweaking notes, rests and barlines manually in Engrave Mode - and it will be much quicker!
