Hi,
there a numerous threads about this topic in the forum. There is no golden way to do it. It all depends on your system - what do you have and what do you want to save?
Personally, I would start with a rather fresh install and download the latest updates of all plugins. I would make a list of plugins that I want to keep, templates, samples, etc.
I like to work with Profiles because they already contain a lot of customized settings and are easy to transfer.
Do you have a lot of user presets or ratings that you’d like to keep? Old VST2 files? What is important and what not? Transferring presets from stock instruments or 3rd party presets saved as *vstpresets is easy. It gets more complicated when it comes to 3rd party plugins because they are all organized differently. For example, Native Instruments/Kontakt can be a rabbit hole…
Again, I would read some threads about moving content to a new computer because it will give you a much better understanding about things you might want to keep, how you can do it etc. Again, there is no golden way. You’ll find a lot of different approaches.
