"Move Event/Range to Selected Track" Bug-Cubase 14.0.5

On my end this works for Midi Events but it does not do anything when I try it with Audio events. I am on Mac OS (latest)
With cubase 13 this was working fine.

Hi,

It works for me here on my side (Cubase 14, macOS 14).

Thx for letting me know, maybe it is key command I programmed, causing the issue…though it was working with Cubase 13. Will try some stuff today and see if I can get it back to working.

Hi,

Does it mean, it doesn’t work, if you try to trigger the function via Key Command?

Yes, all other key commands/shortcuts function with avid dock, stream deck and with the keyboard. But that one does not. I tried programming a different combination still the same. And as I said, for midi events it works. I don’t understand

Hi,

Does it also crash, if you call the function from the menu Edit > Move > Event/Range to Selected Track?

No, it never crashes, just does not do anything.

I just tried what you suggested. as you can see on the screen shots, if I choose an audio event, most of those commands are dark, not available. but when I choose a midi event I get more options.

On my side I the menu items also work on audio.

However, even if I selected a range the command will move the entire audio event.

Hi,

Sorry, too much crashes in my head, now.

To me, it looks like a Range Selection here. Isn’t it?

but I selected an audio event, no range.

Hi,

Sorry, I don’t see any Audio Event selected (via the Object Selection Tool) on the screenshot. Didn’t you select it in the divided track list, in the other (upper) list by any chance?

I confirm what @Johnny_Moneto found, it works with audio, but when using a range selection it moves the whole event instead of the range.
Since we are on PC, this may be a Mac issue.

Furthermore, “Move Event/Range to Selected Track” will always move the selection to the uppermost selected track. For this reason, when the “Track Selection Follows Event Selection” option is enabled and using a range selection, the feature will not work when the target track is located below the one that contains the selection.
The code here should be rewritten so that it actually seeks for a track that does not contain the source event, instead of being hard coded to the uppermost track. As user we should not have to temporarily disable an option to make another feature work…

Glad at least we found one issue/bug. But on mac/cubase 13, it was moving the audio event to selected track not the uppermost. I have to add I was never using the command via the menu and always with streamdeck/key command. Maybe with the menu or on windows it was/is as you stated.

Hi,

This one has already been reported to Steinberg. Thank you.

Selected Audio event was either covered with the menu or it was outside the visible region. And on the divided upper section I don’t use/have antyhing besides Arranger, Chord track etc…no audio, instrument or midi tracks.

I experienced the same issue with Audio events as mentioned by @ANASONSoundLab. If I was selecting an Audio event, function in the menu was greyed out/un-available for me. If I selected a range though, the option would appear and I was available to use it. But just selecting the Audio event wasn’t working. I tried switching off the Track Selection follows Event selection, but that didn’t help either. What did help was me switching off the Combine Selection Tools. Once that was off and I used the Object Selection tool to select the Audio Event, I was able to use the 'Move To Selected Track ’ function properly. Guess this is a bug. Not sure if it has been reported yet.
