Hello again, not a major issue, but is there any way to raise the instrument titles in Write mode above the bar numbers?
Hello RT, can you describe what you mean by “instrument titles”?
If you are in Write Mode you have different ways of displaying your score:
Page View
Galley View
Fill View
If you are using Galley View, you will have your player names superimposed in a grey shadow font - as a guide to show where the stave belongs to. I guess you are referencing to those.
Yes, they are on the same height and in the same colour as the guide bar numbers.
As far as i know you can’t change their position.
I know you can switch off the display of the bar numbers, but I don’t know whether you can switch off the display of the player names.
Hello KB,
You have correctly interpreted what I thought was a fairly straightforward question.
I just wondered if it were possible to raise them above the bar numbers, but apparently not.
Thank you for your response.

Hi @rjthomson110253, adding to what @k_b said:
if your situation is a Player holding multiple instruments, and so generating a long Galley View Margin Label (so is it called, and has also a separate Paragraph Style called the same way ) that covers the bar numbers labels, consider renaming the Player with some shorter name: the GVML will be shortened accordingly (showing the Player name:Instrument).
Hello Christian,
Nothing complicated or long … I just wondered if it were possible to raise the standard labels for single instruments so they don’t obscure the bar numbers. So far my best solution is just to move the whole window to the left so I don’t see the labels.

I think the design choice of keeping the names right above the staff was made to ensure there were never any doubts about which staff the name belonged to. If they were further up, they might be confused with belonging to the next stave above, especially in tight views. Just a guess…
