Move Pick Up note

What is the best way to move the last note of a system to the next system as a PickUp? Will I need to create a pickUp bar manually and copy the note?

And on another note…. This is for a choral piece; I guess the same layout rules apply as for an instrumental piece (could not find it in “Behind bars“.

One way…
Select the last note of the system.
Create the pickup (eg. shift-M 4/4,1) and hide the time signature in properties.
Go to Engrave and move to next system.

(Others may be more elegant solutions…)

Perhaps you could select the last note(s) of the system that you want to move and do a system break (in engrave mode).

Thanks yes… I thought that I had tried that, but now I realize that I used “Move to next system“

Thanks Janus :slight_smile: That’s how I did it until now. Was hoping for a smoother way. Actually, most places where I will need this, is between flows. That is probably too much of an ask.
