I have just decided to move from my old windows pc to mac mini m4. MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1.
Reinstalled Cubase and most of my plugins and vst instruments. Same version of Cubase (13) and same versions of plugins/vsts.
I also copied all Cubase projects over to the new mac. This is where the problems occur.
When opening up a project on the new mac i get a warning that some plugins can´t be found:
I don´t understand why Cubase can not find plugins like the Nexus and EZDrummer 3. When opening the project after the warnings the tracks have all the information like audio, midi and all other settings, but can not find Nexus and EZDrummer 3 even though they are installed.
Has anybody experienced anything like this?
you were probably using VST2 versions of the plugins and new Mac’s can only use VST3.
You need to go back to your old projects and install VST3 versions and copy your settings to those then re save and they will open on the Mac.

Thanks. I am pretty sure i only used VST3 on the windows pc, but i will double check.
I checked now and EZdrummer was using VST 3.7.2, same as the new mac.
Did try to open Cubase as Rosetta 2, just to see if the problem occurs? Close cubase, open your applications folder, find the cubase app, select and use command + I to show the info and select open as Rosetta.
Now reopen Cubase.
I tried that now but it didn´t change anything.
It only scanned through all the plugins at startup and some VST2 plugins that i don´t plan on using showed up.
And what about the blocked list? Any plugins blocked by Cubase?
All your plugins are missing or only a few?
strange…
Only other thing I can think of is it’s a security/permissions thing. Current MacOS are completely over the top with security permissions now and I’ve had issues that eventually lead back to security permissions of folders etc.
Sorry I can’t be of more help.

No plugins are blocked by Cubase.
I tried a little experiment and created a new project on my windows pc with different VST instruments. Copied the project over to the new mac and now it´s only the EZdrummer 3 that Cubase can not find saved in the project.
So EZdrummer is in Cubase on the mac, no problem just adding it to the track. But the plugin and its settings are not transferred in the projects from windows pc to mac. Maybe this is just a problem related to EZdrummer/Toontrack so i have posted a message on their forums as well.
Don´t be sorry for trying to help
I bet it’s a security/permissions thing as I stated. I know that unless some VSTI’s preset folders are given permission in MacOS they can’t save presets.
I use Superior dummer 3 here and work between PC and Mac and have no issues at all so you’d think Easy Drummer would be the same.
M
Thanks. Is there a way for me to give permissions in macOS? Should i try to see what options i have for permissions for the EZdrummer/Toontrack folders?
This does not seem like a Cubase or mac issue. The problem is with EZdrummer.
This thread explain the problem for anyone else that might encounter it:
