Hello. I neither read nor write music notation. I have a piece of piano music I had transcribed using another AI site and it actually worked really well, except that it added a half rest in the first measure, where there shouldn’t be one. So in other words, it transcribed it just about perfectly except the song starts in the 3rd count rather than the 1st count. If I were to import the MXL file into Dorico, can I use Dorico to remove the half rest in the first measure and move everything up accordingly? I tried to read the manual to find out if that can be done, but at almost 2000 pages, it is difficult to find that out. Thanks.
Welcome to the forum @chuckabello!
You can absolutely do this using a feature called Insert Mode, which is designed to insert or remove music at a particular rhythmic position.
If you turn Insert Mode on and remove the two beats of rest, everything will be pulled back two beats. It’s a matter of selecting the rest and pressing Backspace.
There’s a video in there too.
