Moving from OSX Cubase to Windows Cubase

I moved to OSX in 2007 and had quite a few issues with plugins not being recognized/referenced properly in my Windows Cubase project files and ended up having to re-load the plugin and losing all of my plugin settings as a result.

How would it look like if I moved back from a Mac OS machine to a Windows machine and installed all of the plugins there - would the transition be smooth enough? Has anyone experiences with a Platform switch?

The only experience I’ve had with this is some plug-in manufacturers not naming their plug-ins the same across platforms, so obviously don’t load. I am going back some years though, so surely by now this shouldn’t be an issue.
