I’m trying to move the last beamed group of the first two staves to the next stave to create more even spacing. This is the way Dorico automatically did it after deleting bar lines to create a cadenza. If I select notes and do the usual move to next system it throws two systems into one. The time signature is 3/4.
Try to deactivate this option in Preferences.
This should allow you to create a system break anywhere.
On the same topic, how can I make the second note in the tie in the bottom stave (the F double sharp) normal size while keeping the first cue size?

I could be wrong, but I’m afraid you need to fake the tie with a slur (then it’s easy in Write ou Engrave Mode).
Edit: It actually works if the two F##s don’t belong to the same voice!
(You need to select both and press T. They’ll be tied, but their respective scales will remain independant. I think I had never noticed that before!)
