It’s always hard to move the small crossfades like 5ms, you need to zoom in a lot then move it, its taking so much time when you dealing with millions of fades in your project.
I got an idea, how about the upper area of the crossfade adjusts the size of it and the lower area moves it?
we already have the resize and move functionality in the program
apparenty having the functionality already did not help you with short crossfades
I guess a better idea would be to have a key command allowing to move a crossfade. No idea how to tell Cubase which crossfade ought to be moved without pointing the mouse at it, though, which would put us back to square one.
I find the overall tone of this forum rather rude and condescending, a person has a problem, asks for help, proposes a solution, but you struggle to find a polite civil way to reply:
“this is a rather poor idea”… follows up dismissive and critical tone.
It’s not just you, I see this all the way around, why cant be just nice to each other and if you do not have anything constructive to say you do not say it at all?
Yeah, sorry if that was too blunt. Still, asking for features that already exist and that won’t deal with the actual problem - how would you describe it? I mean, even if Steinberg implements the proposed feature exactly in the way that Askhan requested it, it would not help them in the slightest.
Anyway I spent the last 20 minutes trying to find a way of dealing with the requirement. Unfortunately I have not found anything better than “use the zoom tool in order to quickly zoom in sufficiently, then move the crossfade area, then use Undo Zoom to get back to the previous view”.
I checked Martin’s Info Line suggestions but I don’t see a way that the Info Line helps in this particular case.
I looked for a key command that addresses the crossfade area only but Cubase does not seem to have a concept of selecting a crossfade area other than pointing at it with the mouse cursor. I also see nothing in the PLE that could help.
I read the other, older topic and there Martin had the idea for a macro, but I think that this make things more complicated to use than the zoom tool.
I disagree strongly with this sentence of yours. The two reasons I mentioned are in my opinion not dismissive at all but a well laid out reason for my first sentence.
Furthermore I feel a person should have the right to criticize somebody else if they feel that not much thought has been given to what was written.
Yes, but careful: Not in order of appearance but in order of date the moment you add your own Zoom Presets. I had my fare share of fun with that since it is not documented anywhere.
