Hello all. I just have a quick question involving using multiple VSTS simultaneously in Dorico, and how to correctly import new voices. This is my first time trying a VST outside of NotePerformer, so I’m not privy to the proper terminology to describe the issue. Basically, I am trying to import choir instrument channels using Spitfire’s Gaelic Voices. Right now, NotePerformer imports several instrments into one channel, as depicted below. Now, I could fill this channel to full to move on to the next one, and then import my voices, but for future convenience I need to learn how to import an instrument into a new channel without having to maximize the instruments in NotePerformer. I have tried limiting the amount of MIDI channels, but instead of blocking any new instrument from going in it just bypasses it and adds it anyway. Any advice? I apologize if I am misidentifying things, again I’m not sure if my terminology is correct.
Update; I wound up just filling the NotePerformer one to see what would happen, just for it to skip over the LABS channel and make a new noteperformer one, so I’m lost now haha. Any help would be appreciated. I searched around a bit but I have a feeling my keywords aren’t accurate so I’m not yielding any applicable results.
edit: I found a semi-solution by changing that noteperformer channel to use LABS instead, but still would prefer figuring out how to make this process easier.
add into your VST rack as many instances of LABS as you need for your vocals (you will need separate instances if you want each voice to have eg. independent dynamics)
Route each vocal instrument to a LABs instance (they will each go to port 1 ch 1)
Don’t worry about NP still having redundant vocal slots, they won’t be used
You might want to create an expression map for your LABS instruments, but for starters use one of the built in ones (perhaps cc11?)
