Mri scan

Hi,
I had a MRI scan a few months ago for Prostate cancer, for anyone who has had this scan, they will understand my musical interpretation of what this machine sounds like - from laying on the sliding table, having the huge magnet spinning around you in a claustrophobic position inside the tube with all the stops and starts and sudden jolts.
I composed this piece of music in Cubasis 3 on iPad Air 6.

Hi. An entertaining piece. I hope you are OK. On a sidenote, how is the battery life in your ipad?

Wonderful piece. It captures MRI ambience nicely.

Thanks for listening.
Entertainment with a lasting memory, I have local advanced prostate cancer, I have to start a course of hormone and radiotherapy. I found I had this cancer by accident, I strongly urge all men to get checked, we often hear about it on the news and we think “ poor bloke, glad it’s not me!” well in my case it was me.

At first the battery life was awful, in 30 minutes using Cubasis, it took over 40% battery and I had to keep it on charge every time, but then I reduced the screen brightness from 60% to around 30% and now the battery only uses between 5 - 10%, it’s a bit dull but I am used to it now.
:beers:

Thanks for listening, I tried to replicate the experience of having those awful radio headphones on that remain silent for ages then suddenly blast out distorted pop music and listening to the clunking of the scanner that sounds like being underneath a lorry engine with loose big end shells lol

Hi. Sorry I forgot that we talked about the ipad battery earlier but I am happy the battery situation is now ok. I am glad the cancer was discovered and that you are receiving treatment

Post deleted due to duplication mistake!!

Ah……it was you who gave me a link to better battery management, I thought I recognised the name, thanks to you my battery will last a lot longer :beers:
I was at stage 3 when I asked my doctor fir a checkup in May this year, if I had waited any longer the cancer would have spread to my bones, luckily I caught it in time.

I really like that reverb snare towards the end. Some of those keys solos very Pink Floyd, who I really love. Hope you’re doing well! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Chubs,
Thanks for listening.
The gated snare is from of the iM1 drum kits, and as for the solo’s sounding like Pink Floyd……they are one of my top favourite bands too.
I’m doing good thanks, not sure how I will feel once my treatment starts though.

Thank you for listening. I am doing well thanks.
I like how you praise Cubasis 3 on the forum, in my view, its really exciting to be able to create any kind of music using this DAW from orchestral to electronic, it keeps the brain active lol

That’s a lovely bit of music. I’ve never used Cubasis properly and I’m astonished at the polished quality you’ve achieved using Cubasis, which is a sign of my ignorance.

Stay well,

Steve.

Thank you plectrumboy, I have done some really complex music using Cubasis 3, When I first moved over from Cubase on desktop to Cubasis 1, I had the iPad 2nd gen, it had no CPU or DSP power at all, but iPads over the last few years have improved so much they leave desktop behind, besides, I can take my iPad wherever I go :beers:

Great work here. I hadn’t listened to this one prior to the Prog track. I really liked your “lead synth” voice that you used on the soloing starting in the 3:00 range. It all layered together really well.
Very sorry to hear what the mri experience has led to for you. All the best in beating that and coming out on the other side with more musical stories to share.
