MTC: can't choose LoopMIDI for that score

Hello,

I’m using the demo of the (VST3) TXL Timecode plugin with Dorico.

It works well except for the score attached. I don’t know why but I can’t choose the LoopMIDI virtual port from the plugin GUI. As soon as I click on it, it disappears instantly and displays “no output” again.

With other scores, I don’t have this problem.

Do you have an idea to fix that, please?

I’m on Win 11, and all softwares are up to date.

Thank you.

Just a guess at something to try.

Double check that you haven’t accidentally double hosted another copy of TXL somewhere in Dorico? Possibly even another Dorico Project lurking in the background somewhere that also uses TXL?

Sometimes plugins use the same shell if multiple instances are started in the same host, and if one instance already has a physical port, it won’t allow another instance in the same host to use it too. If it’s something like that, making sure you only have one copy of TXL running in Dorico should fix it?

If that’s not it….

Try taking TXL out of the project and save a new copy. Close Dorico. If it’s not too much trouble you might even reboot your system. Launch Dorico again and load the newer copy of the project. Set up TXL from scratch and see if the port works now?

Thank you, Brian.

Unfortunately, none of those suggestions works. But you really helped.

Indeed, but I finally found the culprit! I (forgot that I) used that port for the Streamdeck. Even when the Streamdeck was off (no process running), the problem was there (no explanation for this…). I ended up creating two distinct ports, and using one for each application.

I can now get back to the project as planned

When I load your project I get a score all set up for Note Performer and it plays as expected. I have version 5 of NP.

TXL will not open at all for me until I clear yours out and rebuild it.

I’m not sure if we’re on the same version of TXL (Mine is v2.0.2 and I’m using Windows 11, and the latest Dorico release). It’s been a while since I went to their website to see if they have updates.

I am able to close out where your instance was meant to be hosted and reload my own. I have no problem getting it to connect to loopMIDI virtual ports (or any of my MIDI interfaces).

Thank you very much for your message and your time. I edited my previous post, in which I explained how to solve the problem.
