I observe Notation Central has MTF fonts for sale. I understood that Abraham Lee had stopped his work. But I see his name, and Dan’s, and Nor Eddine listed as designers.
My question is, is it still current? Arnold, say.
Hello @benwiggy I see you get Nepomuk text font included. That’s great.
Arnold is current, it has been updated like a year ago (I mean, big update, I think Dan is responsible for it), that’s when I bought it, and it looks great. Beware, there are the “new” updated ones (eight of them, I think) and the old ones (not sure whether they are still in sale). The point of the update is to make sure they are completely SMuFL compatible.
Just to clarify, I am Nor Eddine — also known as Nor or Nordine (pronounced Nordean) by most French speakers — founder and designer of NorFont.com.
I was the person behind the major update of the MTF fonts, especially the expanded glyph sets and SMuFL-related work. Dan (@dan_kreider) started the revisions, and then NYC Music Services, through its founder my friend Philip Rothman (@Philip_R), kindly turned the project over to me. I’m grateful for their trust, and also for the original work by Abraham Lee, on which everything was built.
As part of the update, I redesigned several glyphs that were either missing or not properly drawn, so it was a major font and SMuFL revision.
Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad to see these fonts still being used and appreciated.
