Multi-bar rest and single bar rest width

In my orchestra score’s parts, I want the width of the multi-bar rest and the single bar rest to approximately correspond with their length. For example, if a 2-bar rest is next to an 8-bar rest, I want the 8-bar rest wider than the 2-bar rest. And, if a 2/4 bar is next to a 6/4 bar, I want the 6/4 bar wider than the 2/4 bar. Is there a way to make this happen automatically?

Rebecca, have you checked Engraving Options–Rests–Multi-bar rests–Spacing? There are some options for scaling the width based on number of bars.

I don’t believe there’s a way to globally inform the width of multi-bar rests based on their metrical proportion.

Thanks for your thoughts, I’d like to suggest this for future versions, as you said, "

Same for individual measures of rest with different numbers of beats in different measures.
That would make parts look better, and avoid a lot of manual moving of things to make it look right.
