I know this multi bar rest has consequences by adding the caesura and I am trying to find a way to get a complete 8 bar mult irest followed by the caesura. I just haven’t found it yet.
Which version of Dorico are you using? This was adjusted in Dorico 5.1.21 released this past week.
Thanks. This is a good fix. I just had not upgraded yet.
I just came upon what I think is a situation similar to the one I had with the caesura earlier. I am now on the most recent Dorico version and I am not certain why I am not getting a full 8 bar multi rest. Does it have something to do with the instrument change or something in bar 47?
I suspect your “To Flute” indication (automatic or not) is breaking the multi-measure rest.
Thank you for getting back to me. I am about to “fool” around with it. “To Fl.” didn’t appear until measure 48, I suppose because there was already so much information applied to bar 47. I’m going to try to associate the instrument change with the bar before (I guess that’s possible) to see if that makes any difference
The indication should occur as soon as the last note has been played. I suppose you staff text „We Three Kings“ is associated with the first instrument.
What is this text? Is it instrument specific? If not, try inputting it as System text instead (shift-alt-x) or move it to the next instrument already in galley view.
I finally found that the issues were with placement of text and tempo in the score. Somewhere, while cleaning things up in engrave mode, things got a little mixed up and I didn’t catch it.
