Multi grid lines

Hi,

I often work with rythms that combine triplets and non-triplets - e.g., “1/16” and “1/8 triplet”. When editing (e.g., in the project window) I can make cubase display gridlines according to any of those, but only one at a time: I usually use the “# use quantize” and change the quantize settings from 1/16 to 1/8 triplet (and back to 1/16). I want to emphasize, I’m not using the quantize feature, the above is just my procedure to display different vertical grids.

It would be absolutely terrific if I could specify two different grid lines (e.g. 1/16 AND 1/8-triplets) - preferably in slightly different colors - that would be displayed at the same time.

The use case for me is audio (percussion) editing - if something doesn’t sound “right” to me, I do some completely-manual “quantize” (i.e., moving a percussion hit a bit). Displaying those gridlines help me in orientation as 1/16 + 1/8-triplets is non amazingly trivial to begin with…

BTW, any other way to achieve what I’m looking for? I’m not looking for any “automated quantize” whatsoever… It’s all about manual editing.

Thanks!

Erez

Hi,

1/32T grid setting shows both: 1/16 and 1/8T already.

Hi Martin,

Hi Martin,

Yes, and it’s arguably not that unusable! And yet, the orientation is a bit lost - more grid lines than needed, and the ability to know “which one is which” is hard. Two colors would have helped.
