Hello all,
Is it possible to change the playback instrument of chord symbols mid-score? For instance, the first half of the score uses a piano for chord symbol playback before moving to guitar for the second half.

Hi @NicWeaverMusic, not sure if there are other methods, but you could create a Piano and Guitar Player just for the “customised” chords playback (if you have already Players holding those instruments, just duplicate those players and put them in a Player group, to avoid automatic numbering), then let Dorico generate the chord notes, based on the chord symbols, for those players using Generate Notes from Chord Symbols in Selection…: selecting the rests in the piano for the desired passage, right click, and generate, then the same for the guitar (choose, in the dialogue, those instruments for the bass note, too, clicking on the Plays bass notes button):

Make sure you deactivate the Chords track playback:
Then you can hide the 2 players using Manual Staff Visibility: they will still playback:
