Multi-measure rest for open solo section with no bar number

I’m looking everywhere for how to do this. I want to have a section of the score which is an open solo and want to indicate it in the parts without having a bar total over the multi-measure rest. I’d want to put ‘open’ in place of the number. Is this possible?

Here’s an example:

You could use an open time signature (shift-M open) for everyone except the solo?

I’ll try this, thanks. So you can independently assign time signatures? Like leave one part in 4/4 and open for the rest?

I would love for this to be easier overall, if Steinberg is perusing. An option in the multi-measure properties to locally change the number of bar rest to custom text.

See point #6 here:

Ok, I tried that. Thanks for that tip and taking the time to respond but it doesn’t seem to do it. It just turns the open section into one bar with a whole note rest in it which I can’t delete. It also doesn’t create a blank multi-measure rest and it sends playback into a black hole. Since there’s seemingly no easy way, I’ll just write in open solo over an arbitrary number of bar rests.

You could apply a Text with white background color to mask the bar number.

Great idea, Vadian. Yes, that’s a workaround and confirm it works! Thank you.
