Still learning from the switch from Finale but definitely liking Doirco way more than I thought I would. Still, a lot I don’t know yet but I actually liek ti better than Finale at this point. Multi-measure rests seem to mostly work fine but I can’t figure out how to include measures that are being excluded even though they are empty and don’t have a double bar or rehearsal mark:
So for this part - the “Straight 8ths” and “Slow Rock Feel” are global but it could still say all that and have a 5 bar MM rest instead of a single bar rest and a 4-bar MM rest. It isn’t crucial to change it - but - is there a way?
It seems that the “Straight 8ths” text is not on the very first beat of the bar.
Please try to select the text and press ALT/OPTION ← to move it to the left by the value of the rhythmic grid.
Thanks for the reply. I tried it but it didn’t really change anything. There is a double bar line prior to this measure - I will try deleting that and see if it helps but it really shouldn’t make a difference as this measure should still be considered part of the multi-measure rest.
The text is a global text in the score. I tried deleting it but it didn’t change anything. This is just the trumpet part - BUT - you were right about the issue being not everything aligning to the first beat. The Slow Rock feel and tempo sign were also not aligned. Once I aligned everything it worked!! Thanks so much!!
@k_b’s point is that “Slow Rock Feel” and “q=86” should both be part of one tempo mark (not text). You can use the Shift+T tempo popover to enter both a text portion and a metronome mark.
