I’m still confused with the way I should deal with VSTi sound assignation when using Parts.
Though my Midi Songs have multiple Parts for Flexloop, they use the same Layers from the start to the end. After importing tracks from Cubase, I have to search for the better Halion sound for each, and there come the issues:
A Layer’s editor is only displayed while playing the Part it belongs to. When reaching the next Part, the Layer’s editor is closed, so it is impossible to choose or edit a VST sound, though that Layer is still active, played by Tracks and audible.
I thought that sharing Layers over all Parts of the Song would be the solution. It was until I realized that VSTi Multi Out is bugged when using Shared Layers. After a Part change, all voices are routed to the Main Out and the busses are ignored. Thus, I don’t need to share the Layers inside a Song, I just need to be able to edit the playing VSTi all Song long.
The only feature that would solve my problem would keep the Layer VSTi editor open even after Parts change.
