As far as i know all incoming notes will goto to the selected track unless another track is preset only play at a certain channel .
I suggests we keep the old thing as is , expand on it via some little box where u highlight 1 of 2-3 colours .
Lets say green red yellow for instance. So whenever yellow is highlighted up and down cursor move the trackselection for that colour and remain, this way we could have 2-3 keyboards or inputcontrollers that could be set just like usual instead of 1.
Så each colour is treated like it was just 1 controller attached. ie moving knobs on yellow will always send it to wherever track yellow is selected. and same for red and green .
also as not all controllers on some stuff are adjustable it be cool if whatever hypothetical interface whould be binding each hardware keyboard/instrument to a colour whould also include a on the fly customization letting a knob/slider doing midi cc 5 for example be 12 or whatever the user sets etc . and have this as and option for all knobs the hardware sent.
Alternativly , ( Im not a cubase blackbelt so it may exist) have such a solution but instead make it so cubase has pretermined profiles for each vst that autoloads whenever a track with the vst is highligted with the trackselector
