Multiple display bug

Hoping this is still the way to submit bugs…

I’ve come across an issue when using multiple screens in Windows with different screen scaling factors.

To reproduce:

  • Go to Settings > System > Display and set the Scale for one screen to 100%, the other to something else (I was using 175% for a 2K screen on a laptop)
  • Start Dorico and open a project - should open on your main display
  • Drag the project window to the other screen, or use Windows-Shift-Left or Right to move it.
  • Now in Write mode, click the Layouts dropdown
  • result: the dropdown will flicker on and off repeatedly and the project window will freeze

As far as I can tell this only happens if the window is on the “other” screen (i.e. not the one Windows considers your main home screen). It doesn’t happen if both screens are set to 100% scale.

Indeed, Mark, we’re aware of this problem. You have nailed down the circumstances under which it occurs precisely. It’s an issue in the Qt application framework on which Dorico is built: we hope that it will be fixed by the Qt developers in due course.

Good to know, thanks Daniel. Sorry if I missed a previous report, I saw some for Cubase but not Dorico.

Best to you and the team!
