Multiple Drum Busses.

Hi Guy’s

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I have 9 drum tracks recorded kik, snare top, snare bottom… etc and have routed to a drum buss for mixing. What I would like to do is set up another drum buss so that I can effectively have the dry drum sound on one buss and a wet/processed sound on the other drum buss and blend together.

Creating the 1st drum buss is fine, how can I route the tracks again to a second drum buss which operates indipendantly of the 1st drum buss??

I might be having a blonde moment here, but I can’t seem to see how to do this without setting up multiple outputs (in additon to my Stereo out).

What I havew been doing is to record the drum buss dry back into Nuendo on a stereo track and then mix with the drum buss, but If I make changes to the individual drum tracks, i have to re-record again.

Any Ideas

Ian

Guy’s said it was a blonde moment.

Resolved it… using multiple stems allows me to route to different groups.

Other methods include these:
Send the 9 separate drum tracks to a couple of groups:
1 - Main Kit
2 - Overheads
Then send a PFL signal from Group 1 to another new group,
3 - Parallel Drums
and slap in there a UAD FATSO or a seriously good buss compressor (I prefer FATSO though)
This gives you total control.
