Is it possible to have multiple pedal lines, or fake it somehow? The composer I work for likes to have all three pedals down as well as the sustain pedal with retakes (I won’t make any comment on this).
Repurposing on of the other pedals is not a satisfactory answer as they are used elsewhere.
Actual playback does not matter much.
Well I can just fake it with a horizontal line. I’d still be interested to know if you can have multiple pedal lines.
You should be able to have one of each type of pedal line at any given position.
Slightly OT: Sometime I would love to see a snippet like the above from your composer friend/client along with a snippet showing how you realize the passage in Dorico (or Lilypond).
@Lillie_Harris , ja, except this is a different case - a line for all three down, and one for sustain down with retakes. You probably haven’t seen this before! And as I said, I am not going to comment on this as a compositional technique!
… I would actually like to see the composer himself performing the piece in a concert…
