Hi, I use Cubase 12.0.70 on a Mac. My projects usually have a lot of plugins and this makes processing very high, causing audio stops. I looked for multiprocessing in Cubase and basically instructions appear to check the Steinberg Audio Power Scheme box, however, this box does not appear in my Cubase. What can I do to improve these audio crashes? Thanks
Cubase already does multi-processing.
The “power scheme” box is for Windows setups, not Macs, AFAIK.
If you are using an M1/2/3 chip based Mac, and running in Rosetta mode, then switching to Native mode would improve performance.
If you’re using a MacBook, then those are sometimes known to not have enough fan cooling for running the chips at full blast all the time, and thus it will throttle the CPU because it doesn’t get cool enough. If that’s the problem, the only solution is running your MacBook in a walk-in freezer room or something …
If you’re already using native mode, and aren’t having cooling probems, then the only thing you can do is use fewer plugins at a time, and bounce some of them to disk.
