In the attached picture one can see selected notes appearing in piano roll but also notes that do appear in the piano roll but for whatever peculiar reason - are not showing in the notation. ( lower staff of piano ) -
Any one has an idea? I mean I have spent a lot of time on notating this music and notes that have been entered are now suddenly being excluded from the notation ( but not from the music ) .
I don’t understand the reason for this behavior , is there a way to make piano roll music to appear in the notation? ( now that’s a funny question…)
I don’t know what to do, I can spend forever now to try and find out which notes appears in the notation and which is not… crazy…
Ram, if you could upload your project file here (or a part of it), it will be easy to solve.
Thanks very much for your reply and willingness, can you kindly remind me how to prepare a project for upload ( so that to save on weight) ?

“Save as…” then apply the Silence playback template. That usually reduces the size enough.
It doesn’t give any templates options in “save as” - it just a save..
“Save as…” simply means save your current file under a different name so you can apply the Silence template without ruining your previous work.
I saved it under a different name - no options for template change… I remember the dialogue but can’t find it…
Menu Play → Playback Template …
rites of nature and man -notated music is missing.dorico (3.9 MB)
I can add a copy of an earlier save if this can help - just so to not loss all the work I did since that last save…
this is not what I remember, I did my best.
Perhaps that would be a good idea. The file above mm 339 looks entirely different than your original screenshot. Also, reviewing that screenshot leads me to think that those ghost notes in the key editor are hidden or otherwise obscured notes from the left hand (unselected).
If I delete the +1 staff -1 staff in bar 67
I get
Don’t understand what you were trying to do there, but maybe it gives you a clue what has caused your problem and how to correct it
I see this different then you - I don’t know why but all the lower stave of piano 1 is missing with me.
The problem have started as of bar 120 where I had a g# f# g alternating, the 4th note was laying but was missing in the notation, i had to erase everything throughout bar 148 and add the music again… but the problem prevails till the end of the piece…
I wanted to edit bar 67 for better playability.
Also kindly check here…
If there’s a note in the Key Editor that you can’t see in the Score, you should at least be able to select it in the Key Editor, and then switch to the Properties panel, and see if there’s something turned on that might be affecting it.
Ah: OK, found some missing notes. I’ll have a look.
Thanks for your reply, please see that the last note in the 4/32 (bar 120 → ) is missing and covered by the next 4/32 but n each 3/8 bar there are 3x3/32 not 12… so in the music what is being played in the piano roll - is not in the notation. If I knew what is the reason for this it would have been a good thing…
Also as I explained - all the music in the lower piano 1 staff is missing as of bar 120…
The problem seems to be caused by this in bar 67, where you’ve added a staff, and hidden a staff.
The hidden notes are in the staff that you’ve hidden.
Why something I did in bar 67 would affect bars 120 up to the end of the piece?
I have erased +/- staff - it changed nothing.
But I thanks you for your answer and the time you took to help me. I have a saved project from few days earlier… I’ll start again…
Most kind regards.
If you add a staff, or hide a staff, then this continues until there is an instruction to do differently.
You’ve hidden the staff after you added music to it. You’ve now got some music in the staff that you added, and some music in the staff that you hid.
That won’t help. You’ve got 3 staves, but piano has 2 until told otherwise. You need to +1 staff, to show the 3rd staff, then sort out the notes so that they are only in 2 staves, then remove the staff changes.
I think I have sorted out 67, it seems that there is an issue with templets and pages that I have to check… the music came back but there is an issue with bar120 - 149… Ill check… thanks for the guidance.
