When Wim sent me this track, I got all emotional.
Never heard my lyrics in someone else’s music before,
quite amazing feeling.
This is a beautiful project Wim, so many layers to the
arrangement and an impeccable mix.
I’m honoured!

Hi Dave,
I used to have a small Behringer preamp, not an Art.
A few years ago I bought a better one, the Focusrite Trakmaster Pro.
Thanks for listening.
Cheers,
Wim
Hi Dave,
Thanks! I’m glad I could make you smile!
Cheers,
Wim
Hey my friend,
I’m honoured, because you let me use these wonderful, personal lyrics.
They were very inspiring, I could relate to them, and I’m very happy with the result.
I’m glad you approve!
Thanks again,
Wim
Really, really good this is, Wim!
Great song/mix and flow from start to finish!
Cheers
Sav
Nice work, Wim. No nits.
Thanks sav!
Hi Nate, thanks for listening!
Nice song. Love the horns, chord progression and harmonies, kind of Steely Danish
Hi dman,
Thanks for the compliment.
Cheers,
Wim
There’s a new version available, Jet performed his tape magic (Ampex 456) on the mix and I think it sounds great!

Wim,
thanks for not giving up on me at the first attempt.Calibration really sorted it!
Allow me to say that the more I’ve listened to this track the more I’ve heard
everything that went into it. Those gospel-like “oohs”, the lovely brass note falls
over the pre-chorus and the richness yet soul of the sax solo.
OK, I better go wipe the drivel off my chin.
As Taylor would say, “Cowabunga!”
Jet
Just listening to it now!
I agree, sounds great-er!
Yeah, it does make a difference doesn’t it. Nice.
Yours are always good. I can’t remember hearing you sing before, it works really well, and I like the way you did the harmonies. Agree about the snare being a little wimpy, but really, minor point.
Thanks, Jet, and Cowabunga to you too!
sav and Ian: thanks for listening again!
Hi Early,
Thanks a lot. I sang quite a few songs already, as you can see on my music page.
Glad you like it!
Cheers,
Wim(py)
Pete Christlieb lives!
Nice tune – loved the harmony vocal section. Your vocal is a bit like Peter’s – I like it. I thought the bass might be a teeny tiny bit too loud. I’m also not sure the ending quite “satisfied” me. Tasty horn charts. The following is NOT a criticism: it doesn’t evoke Steely Dan for me – not sardonic enough.
don’t mind another listen at all. it really is a great morning tea song, easy and melodic with good vocal hook. of course I’m enjoying the bass and sax but I really like the keys also. good stuff wim
