Musical Mode / Time Stretch broken in Cubase 13?

I just upgraded to Cubase 13 from 12 and am exhausted with all the bugs I’m experiencing (I’m on macOS Monterey which is supposedly supported).

I’m trying to import a loop, adjust it to my tempo, splice it up on the beats and revert the events to the original tempo so they aren’t time stretched anymore. But as you can see something goes wrong when I turn off Musical Mode. What’s going on here?

Set the tempo of the loop first in either the pool or the sample editor

Why? I’ve never had to do that before. All I want to do is turn off time stretch on each of the individual events, while they keep their starting points intact. Has never been an issue in C12.
