There is something funky with my xml import. Whenever I import an xml file, the resulting score looks nothing like traditional notation. My workaround is to go to Library manager and import settings from the last Dorico file I worked on. However, doing this for every xml file I open is very time-consuming and there has to be a better way. I tried to open one of the example files from this tutorial for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_k1HGDWCk0
As you can see, my resulting score is very different from the one in the video. I’ve unticked every option under MusicXML import in Preferences. This happens to EVERY xml import, regardless of whether it’s a file I’ve exported myself or something sent to me from others.
If I start a new project and import the xml into that project, things look as expected. I would like to be able to just import the xml from the start, though.
When I use the same method, the music looks like your example for a second and then changes into the example I posted earlier. What I usually like to do to open the xml files is to drag them onto the Dorico icon in my dock or onto Steinberg Hub.
