Mute certain parts of Automation?

I know how to disable an automation track, but I wondered if there was a way of muting just certain parts? Sometimes I draw in or program automation and like certain parts but am not sure about the final arrangement yet and wondered if I could just select certain parts in an automation track and mute those?

Yes, just Select them using the Mute Tool. Or Select with Arrow Tool and change the Mute state on the Info Line or using a Key Command.
