Hi Jeff, some months ago I had a similar issue (though in a slight different conext)
I had ghost notes playing and sudden mutes without any obvious intervention or automation…

something I’ve found out:
ghost notes (pattern changes for some midi-inserts) where effectively triggered by notes outside of a MIDI block (which shouldn’t be but apparently happened)
Out of this experience I only can suggest to check the list editor for unwanted MIDI - content. and try to automate a unmute just before the event starts…
there’s indeed something strange happening there and I didn’t find the cause 100%. But one reason where notes or MIDI events outside the MIDI-block, another one might be a bug with mute automation.
Only suggestion is to check the List-Editor for strange/unwanted MIDI-signals…
