In the next major update of fp-wizard, there will be a new feature that provides support for such situations. I call it smart footswitch control. There has never been anything quite like this in the world of controllers.

Maybe time to invest in a foot pedal that is fully silent..

My old footswitch is also pretty loud, but that doesn’t matter anymore.

CKB writes the following in the what’s new notes:

What’s new is, that all footswitch functions are now triggered only when the footswitch is released. This has the beneficial side effect that squeaking caused by the footswitch does not become part of an audio recording.
