Just for everyones info - I bought the new dongle and it’s made zero difference in speed of loading etc so Im baffled by what everyone was talking about here. it was fast with the previous as well as the new - no difference at all except in size.
I am using Cubase since it was called Steinberg 24 Track and the very first dongle that came out. I have it on a USB extension cable and always only unplug the cable, never the dongle itself. Never had any problems.
And IMHO USB-C is the worst connection ever made…
