Hello and welcome,
I think somebody else had the same issue. We found the problem to originate from the user preferences file. If you start Cubase hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (PC) resp. Cmd + Opt + Shift (Mac).
In the upcoming dialog (safe mode) chose to disable program preferences.
If that cures the issue, then you can use the same method on the next start of Cubase to delete instead of disable the program preferences.
Thank you. Will this have some other side effects? If I start creating new preferences again will this issue come back?
I haven’t seen anybody figuring out why this happens in the first place, so it is hard to predict what caused your current situation and whether it will happen again. But most likely it will not happen again.
Side effects are that some other settings will be deleted together with the bad one.
Great. Well it worked. Now I gotta find some missing plugins
Thank you for your help
The problem keeps coming back. It looks like I’ll just need to launch in safe mode EVERYTIME I use Cubase now
