My electronic piano's pedal doesn't work

This is a stage piano.
Other VST pianos have this issue as well.
It’s connected via MIDI cable, but the pedal doesn’t work.

Is there a way to program the pedal? It’s not built into the VST.

Usually, the sustain pedal is controlled by cc64 via MIDI, and Dorico deals with it perfectly. What kind of problem are you facing here, exactly ?

Hello.

When I press the piano pedal, it should sound, but no matter which pedal I press, the pedal function doesn’t work.

What do you mean with “is should sound”? If the pedal is a sustain pedal, it will sustain notes (press a note and the pedal. release the note but not the pedal=the note is sustained). The sustain pedal sends a CC64 to the app (Dorico, Cubase, etc…), as @MarcLarcher wrote.

Also: some pedals have a little mechanical switch behind/under them, that inverts the signal (polarity): sometimes it solves communication problems.

Teacher, I misspoke about the sound. I’m a beginner.

Thank you, teacher. I didn’t draw the line properly.
