My Elicencer is broken - What can I do

In that case, they can’t sell them. Any more than you could sell Cubase 14 after buying 15 update. It may physically be possible in this case but it’s not a spare license to sell, it’s still part of your new license.

Well, thanks to everyone for all your help but I will contact Cubase directly and try and solve this problem, I bought this product many years ago and to think that because my dongle broke, I am forced to upgrade to Cubase whatever version, the sun will burn out before Cubase gets any more money from me.

If Cubase can’t help then It looks like my music making days are over (after 23 albums) which says to me that Cubase is just a scam, only people with a deep passion for music can know how I feel now.

I am deeply depressed about this and if I was to buy another studio, it would be nothing to do with Cubase.

Many thanks for all your help but it doesn’t look like there is any solution to this.

nothing is forever - go try Luna free version or use Reaper with nag screen.

Sorry you feel this way. IMHO SB should have given the chance for people who use previous versions to register their licences online, but I think SB can only provide support for so many versions far back.

SB is not the only company to discontinue support; Microsoft does the same.

Trust me when I say that you are talking to a person who saw red when Windows 7 support was dropped, couldn’t install Cubase 10 (or a similar version, was a long time ago) on it, I installed Windows 10 which turned out it was incompatible with my motherboard, and the whole thing became a jigsaw puzzle of which none of the pieces matched.

The result? I trashed a 2K computer in the bin and had to fork out another 2 to 3K to upgrade to a new PC.

I feel your pain, but if you want to keep up with the Jones’s, the reality of the thing is that, once in a while, you have to upgrade hardware and software…

In any case, I wish you good luck with your feature endeavours, and I hope you’ll get a program that suits your needs.

Why vendors are still selling Dongles if the licenses server is down ?

I haven’t seen a shop that still sells it. Where do you see that?

I don’t think any official Steinberg ones do.
Maybe it’s just dodgy Dave down the market does.

That is obviously a vendor that want to get rid of his stock. This is simply a dubious provider.
