My Hat, It Has 3 Corners

I ran across this silly tune and thought it would make a fun piece for band. I use a “My Hat!” 2-quarter note motif (since the song is about a person’s obsession with the hat) throughout with harmony and a countermelody on the repeat of the main tune. I think it turned into a fun band arrangement. It’s for Grade 2-2.5 band.

Since you seem new to the tune, you might be interested to know that it’s often played as a virtuosic solo under the name “Carnival of Venice”.

Thank you! I’ll check it out. I should learn to do a bit more detailed research on songs I arrange. I really like the sound of tuba -it is capable of great beauty-as is the baritone- in the hands of capable players. It’s been a long time since I heard Carnival of Venice; I missed the association.
