My key commands preset doesn't load with my template

Hello, every time I add a new macro, I save it to my key command preset and choose “overwrite”.
But the thing is, when I load my template again, the default key commands that load are not the latest one. To get the latest one I need to manually go to key command and load my personal preset.

Is this a way to avoid doing this manually every time ?

Hi,

What do you mean by this, please? What kind of template?

when I save my project “as a template”

then I open cubase and choose that template as a starting project

The key command presets are not stored in a given project : they are ‘global’ and saved independently (see what’s related to the key commands presets in the preferences help page) :

what’s the best practise to not loose any change? to not save the key command preset after an edit ?

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. Custom key commands should retain between sessions.

If, for a reason, you made changes, just save the ley commands again with the Save Preset… option, eventually with a different preset name, if needed.

The issue (I would qualify this as a bug…) is that, in the Key Commands window, “No Preset” appears in the Select preset dropdown list, when starting a new Cubase session. But, looking more closely, you’ll see that actually, the changes done in the previous session are recalled as you saved them, despite what is displayed in this dropdown list.

Hi,

The Key Commands are global.

Once you set it, you can Quit Cubase to make sure the Key Commands.xml file has been written/stored properly.

You can also save your own Profile in Cubase.
