My opinion on the true high-end audio interface based on Cubase/Nuendo

Dear Steinberg.

I want to tell you this, so I also created a Steinberg Forum account today…

I am writing to you as a user who really loves and uses Steinberg products.
In particular, AXR4, which can connect a large number of AES equipment while operating stably, is considered to be the best audio interface existing from the audio engineer’s point of view.
Even though it’s this good, there’s no one who recognizes it…

I think we really need a high-end interface launch that will turn the times around in Steinberg.
The point is the audio interface ‘only optimized for digital input/output’.
AXR4 is great, but modern audio studio engineers require more digital ports to connect to the interface than simplified, clean preamplifiers or high-spec built-in converters.
This is because there are many ADA converters and outboards that each engineer uses separately according to their taste.
Anyway, I don’t think the performance of the preamplifier or built-in converter is very important because the high-end product is for ‘professional’.

For example, eight input/output ADATs (64 channels), 16 input/output AES (32 channels), and eight input/output SPDIF (16 channels) If Steinberg launches an audio interface product that can be optimized for various digital inputs and outputs and equipped with easy-to-operate controls (Volume, Talkback, Mute, Dim), the Cubase/Nuendo system will be well received by many engineers.

Economic products to refer to in the benchmark: MOTU-8D, MOTU-LP32, RME-ARC USB
I think we need Steinberg’s new product that these products can’t overcome

Please do not ignore this market and actively consider launching a ‘full digital high-end audio interface’.

Thank you for reading it.

The Nuage system wasn’t that successful for the music market.
So maybe you overestimate this market.

Was it really seriously marketed toward music though (as opposed to post)?

It was marketed for post-production mainly, but the music sector wasn’t excluded.
