Mystery Marking

Please take a look at this screen shot. in m. 60 there is a mysterious number 50 above the molto. rit. It does not appear in the score and I have now idea how it got there. I also can’t delete it in Write Mode. I a, not sure how it got there or how to make it disappear.
Any help appreciated.
Will send Dorico file if that helps anyone.

It’s very difficult to know for sure without seeing the project, but my guess is that it’s a bar number that’s been dragged in Engrave Mode from the previous system.

Speaking of which, where has bar number 66 gone? Indeed a project file would be most helpful here.

First,
Richard,
You are absolutely correct. After checking the whole page I see the bar number at m. 50 was missing to I went to Engrave Mode and moved it back where it belongs. I have no idea how it got moved in the first place.

Now, hrnbouma, I have no idea where bar number 66 went to. I can not find it anywhere on the page. Can you tell me how I can send you just that part as a Dorico file? In Finale, I could extract the part and send it as a separate file but don’t know how to do that yet in Dorico. If you can tell me how to send you the Perc. 2 part I will attach that to see if anyone can find the missing 66.

Thank you both so much for your help so far.
Gary

Just a thought, you might have moved 66 well away (off the page) or hidden it (inadvertently) or both.
Write mode, click on bar 66, right-click, Bar numbers, Bar number change, it should be set at 66, click OK. Does it restore?

Arco,
#66 re-established as per your instructions. The bar was set as 66 and when I clicked O.K. the bar number came back as it should be. Can’t figure out what made that happen.

Follow-up question to you Pros. I prefer not to have the smaller bar numbers show below the staff in both the score and parts whenever there is a rehearsal number in that bar. Is there a universal way to tell Dorico to hide the bar numbers whenever a rehearsal number is inserted or must I hide each number separately in the Properties Panel?

Yes, look under Library->Layout Options->Bar Numbers->Showing and Hiding

Jesper,
Thanks. That did it. I was looking for the way to do this in Dorico Help and I seemed to lead me toward Engrave Options instead of Layout Options and in Engrave Options I could find nothing under bar numbers or Rehearsak Marks that would let me do that. I was looking under the wrong Library I guess.
Thanks so much.
Gary

Jesper,
Hmm. Hold on. I need a little more help. I turned off “Show Bar Numbers at Rehearsal Marks” in the Score but when I open each parts they reappear. Will I need to go through each part separately and turn that off? I was hoping when I turned it off in the score it would carry over to the parts.
Thanks.
Gary

Library> Layout options, in the right zone are the layouts the settings will apply to.

Yes, select all the layouts on the right side in Layout Options, as @arco said.

arco and Jesper,
I went to Layout Options and selected all the parts, but when I went to Bar Numbers>Showing and Hiding the box was not checked in “Show Bar Numbers at Rehearsal Marks” and yet the bar numbers at the rehearsal marks are still showing. I tried checking the box for all Layouts and the unchecking it again but thew bar numbers persist. Must be doing something wrong.
Thanks so much.
Gary
Correction - They are not showing in the score but are showing in each part layout even though I selected all the layouts in Layout Options.

Just a quick question, did you click the APPLY button at the bottom? (I say this, because often I forget, but that’s probably only just me …)

arco,
Yes, I did. But I think I just figured out the problem. This only works if “Show Above Top Staff of System” is selected and “Show Below Bottom Staff of System” is not selected.
